FAQs
Do you accept insurance?
No. I prefer you to have the autonomy to engage in treatment as you and I feel is appropriate and necessary, not just what is determined by your insurance company. Additionally, price transparency eliminates surprise bills and hidden fees, which can be huge disruptors to treatment (and huge headaches for therapists and clients alike!). I trust that my clients value my services and are willing to invest in themselves.
I do offer superbills so that you can request out-of-network reimbursement directly from your insurance carrier.
What conditions do you treat?
I specialize in working with women around issues related to codependency, people-pleasing, and the guilt and shame that constantly push them to the brink of exhaustion. These patterns can result in symptoms of many different mental health disorders, but to be honest, I try not to get too caught up in diagnostic labels.
Do you:
Feel like you can never say no to family or partners?
Find yourself feeling angry or resentful that you carry the load for others?
Struggle to communicate openly and honestly with your loved ones?
Get stuck in one-sided relationships that you don’t feel you can leave?
Put on the mask of the “happy-go-lucky” person who never shows her problems to anyone else?
Find yourself wanting to drink or use substances (or engage in other not-so-helpful behaviors) to deal with your stress?
If any of these describe you, we might be a great fit! Not sure? Schedule a consultation to discuss more!
Does virtual therapy really work?
Yes! The most effective therapy is the one you can get to! And honestly, wouldn’t you rather do therapy in your PJs?? With your pets nearby? Or we can squeeze it in over your lunch break, so you don’t have to interrupt your workday and you can still pick the kids up on time.
More than convenience, many of my clients prefer to be at home during sessions. They feel safe there, maybe safer than they would a therapy office, and don’t have to worry about driving right after therapy (or rushing through traffic to get to an appointment on time).
As a therapist, I find it just as easy to attune to my clients and research is indicating that many of our best evidence-based treatments work just as well virtually as they do in person.
